Buridda is a self-managed occupied social laboratory in Genova, Italy
As a flat hierarchies space created by and for people of all ages, is cohesive in order to provide the community with a free and safe space to promote alternative information, share projects, knowledge and culture at all levels.
The Italian Government has built and abandoned structures that have been closed for decades, while there are no homes for homeless people neither free spaces to develop aggregation, culture, creativity.
When the legislation is wrong, because it is based on the economic value that derives from it, one must have the ability to look at it, recognize the injustice and take responsibility for changing it.
After being cleared out by the police the Buridda group decided to occupy and renovate a new building abandoned for years, which is still its home today.
They did it dancing under the rain.
