Cease fire now

Berlin, 4th November 2023

Since the attack on October 7th, 2023, the State of Israel has killed more than 9,000 people in the besieged Gaza Strip dropping as many bombs on Gaza in one week as were dropped on Afghanistan in an entire year during the US- Afghanistan conflict.

Historical oppression escalated in the month of October 2023 into unjustified bombing, use of white phosphorus, complete state of siege of Gaza, and violation of international humanitarian law towards the Palestinian people; just to mention a few actions of what is now an obviously bigger plan: the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

This is a story told over the skin and the blood of thousands of victims, innocent civilians, and two million people, forced to live in a state of daily segregation and mourning in the territory of the Gaza Strip.

Alongside hypocritical media propaganda, Israel once again used accusations of Antisemitism to launch yet another attack on Palestinian civilians: collective punishment is a war crime. Scholars warn that Israel's stated aims and actions meet the definition of genocide on multiple counts.

The German government continues to offer Israel its unwavering support. The city of Berlin has banned almost all protests in solidarity with Palestine, restricted symbols of Palestinian identity in schools, and unleashed a wave of police violence against Palestinians and their supporters, in which hundreds of people have been arrested.

In light of this escalation of Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestine and the restriction of free speech in Germany, on November 4th more than 10.000 people demonstrated in Berlin, for an immediate Cease Fire and the liberation of Palestine.
