dump trump

London, 4th June 2019

In 2017 a coalition of organisations and individuals joined forces to protest against Donald Trump’s planned visit to the UK. Their letter to the Guardian called his presidency dangerous and divisive and committed to organizing one of the biggest demonstrations in British history.

In 2018 400,000 people joined the Stop Trump Coalition in taking action in London and at protests around the UK. Each time Trump returns, the Carnival of Resistance will fight him again.

On June 4th, 2019 over 75,000 protestors gathered in central London’s Trafalgar Square on Tuesday to show their anger over U.S. President Trump’s visit to the U.K, according to the STC.

The demonstrations brought together a range of different campaigners. Themed areas will feature throughout the protest with climate justice, migrants’ rights, anti-racism, Women's rights, LGBT rights, anti-war, trade union rights and refugee support.

After Brexit (31.01.2020) the new PM Boris Johnson is following in Trump’s footsteps in making UK politics even more divisive and toxic.

STC rejects Trumpism in Britain and in the USA, and fights against Trump’s plans for NHS, a dangerous vehicle for massive deregulation and privatization, fuelling inequality.

The British Medical Association (BMA) also issued a statement, urging all the contenders in the Tory leadership race to commit to excluding the NHS from any post-Brexit talks.
